Elaine studied at a leading school in complementary therapies in the UK, and qualified with ITEC accreditation before returning to South Africa and joining the St. Francis Health Centre in Port Alfred. She went on to start her own practice, Holistic Treatments in 2005. Elaine has become well respected for her commitment to helping her clients achieve better quality of life through expert techniques and the rare ability to instil genuine and emotional well-being.

Relax.

A holistic massage delivered by the experienced hands of your therapist, in a serene environment, will reduce pain caused by muscular tension, provide relief from mild anxiety by lowering blood pressure and heart rate, and simulate the nervous system to bring about an overall state of calm.

Soothe.

From deep in the earth comes the soothing effect of therapeutic lava stones. Carved basalt are gently heated in water and used to enhance the effects of a holistic massage by improving their beneficial warmth to tired and taut muscles.

The hot stones can also be used to enhance the benefits of reflexology. This ancient art is an all-encompassing treatment, whereby organs, glands and the skeletal system can be accessed and stimulated through the applying of gentle pressure to specific points (reflex points) on the hands and feet.

Another ancient technique which soothes is ear candling. This treatment is perfectly safe and can be combined with other holistic experiences like an Indian head massage, to induce a pleasant state of calm by balancing the pressure in your ears, forehead and sinuses.

Heal.

True healing begins with a relaxed mind, and a body soothed of pain. Holistic treatments are not indulgences; rather they, like regular exercise and nutritious food, are essential for long-term good health and overall well-being.
